Congratulations, WHS Class of 2021!

As friends and family cheered from the stands, the Westfield High School Class of 2021 gathered at Gary Kehler Stadium on June 23 under picture perfect skies to receive their diplomas.

Unsung Heroes

Each spring, the Union County School Boards Association recognizes a 12th grader from each high school as "unsung heroes" - students who quietly make outstanding contributions to their school and communities. Congratulations to Amanda White, UCSBA's Unsung Hero for Westfield High School.

World Language Honors

Eighty-three students recently were inducted into the National Honor Societies for French, Spanish, Italian and Chinese, with 20 excelling in French, 40 in Spanish, 9 in Italian, and 14 in Chinese. Additionally, 90 WHS seniors attained the Seal of Biliteracy, an award granted to students who attain proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation.

Making Virtual Music

In a normal school year, the winter and spring calendars are filled with musical concerts, as student voices and instruments ring out in joyous acknowledgement of the seasons. This is not a normal year but, despite the pandemic, students and their instructors have found ways to share their music, going to great lengths to learn new technologies and create virtual ensembles that showcase their considerable talent.
