WHS Remote Learning Plan Overview

March 13, 2020

Good afternoon,

The Westfield High School  staff has been working to develop a virtual learning plan so that instruction can continue while we are closed due to the current health crisis.  The planning began on Wednesday and teachers have been working with their class to share the method in which instruction will occur and have practiced some of the skills and applications.

By the end of our in-service day on Monday, March 16, students will be able to access the week’s agenda, teacher’s preferred method of communication, any needed resources and any virtual “events” students will be asked to participate in on each teacher’s website.  So that there is continuity and structure, we are implementing the schedule below.  Teachers will be available(via e-mail or other virtual means) at the time listed on the chart for questions, support or implementing on-line resources.   Instruction will begin on Tuesday, March 17th and will follow periods 5-8.  An example of how this would work is that your child can reach out to their 5th period teacher between 8-9 am on Tuesday morning to ask a question or get help and will receive an answer in real time.
