Congratulations to our student-athletes who signed Letters of Intent with colleges and universities, signifying recognition of the seniors’ accomplishments both academically and athletically.
It was a celebration of family and remembrance at Edison Intermediate School on Nov. 1, as students in grades 6-8 and their world language teachers marked Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, creating a Hallway of Memories with colorful and meaningful displays.
With a score of 94.2, the Westfield High School Marching Band placed 2nd out of 38 competing high school bands at the New Jersey Marching Band Directors Association (NJMBDA) State Championship.
Whether writing letters and handmade cards, reading books about patriotism and heroes, holding assemblies, or learning how Veterans Day was established, students in the Westfield Public Schools paid tribute on Nov. 11 to the nation’s men and women in uniform, past and present, to thank them for their service and sacrifice.

Three Westfield High School 12th graders received the President’s Volunteer Service Award which honors individuals who have volunteered 100 hours or more towards a meaningful cause which positively impacts a community.
Westfield High School principal Mary Asfendis (L) congratulates 12th graders Amy Xiao (center) and Phoebe Chadowitz who earned perfect scores of 800 on sections of the May 2021 SAT. Xiao received a top score in the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section while Chadowitz scored an 800 in Math.
