No Place for Hate
As our school community and nation as a whole strive to combat hatred and bigotry, WHS continually works to create an inclusive and welcoming environment. In September, 2019, we joined forces with the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) and accepted the challenge to be designated as a ’No Place For Hate’ school. To do so, a committee of students, teachers, staff, and parents have worked together to educate and inspire through a series of school-wide anti-bullying and anti-bias programs. We have hosted a school assembly, shared stories of discrimination in classroom visits, hosted an interactive gallery and facilitated school-wide discussions and book clubs related to race. Our work continues, every day.
