2020 PSAT Registration

Please note that this information is subject to change based on any guidelines for re-opening schools in the fall.

Westfield High School will be offering the opportunity for students to take the PSAT on Saturday, October 17, 2020.

This opportunity is ONLY offered to Westfield High School students who will be entering grades 10 and 11 in September 2020. If a conflict exists for this date, you may wish to contact other schools in the area as some schools give the test on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 or Wednesday, October 28, 2020. The College Board allows you to search other school’s test dates via this url:

The PSAT is NOT a required test. That said, it is strongly suggested that students in Grade 11 participate as this does serve as a qualifying exam for several scholarships such as the NMSQT.

We will be registering students for the PSAT online this year through the TotalRegistration website. An email will be sent to you with specific instructions for registration before the window opens. The registration window will be from August 3rd 2020 through September 7th, 2020. Due to the time required to provide adequate staffing and order the necessary and sufficient materials, late registrations, unfortunately, CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.

Students who ordinarily receive accommodations should consult with their counselor or case manager to make sure that the College Board approves these accommodations for the PSAT and SAT. ONLY ACCOMMODATIONS PRE-APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE COLLEGE BOARD CAN BE GRANTED, REGARDLESS OF ANY OTHER DOCUMENTATION. When you register, you will be asked for your College Board generated SSD number to verify the approval of your accommodations. If your accommodation status changes after you register, please contact Mr. Maruschak to alert him to the change. The College Board deadline for applying for accommodations so that they may be guaranteed to be processed before our test date is August 25th.
On the day of the test, students should enter the building via the rear entrance closest to Cafeteria B. Testing rooms will be posted by Cafeteria B and outside of Room 159. Plan to arrive between 7:30 am and 7:50 am. Gridding will begin promptly at 8:00 am. The standard testing day takes approximately three and a half (3.5) hours, including testing and gridding.

Students are responsible for bringing their own calculators and number 2 pencils. Proctors will not have extra calculators on hand to loan out. Acceptable calculators are listed on the PSAT Website Any questions on the morning of the PSAT, should be brought to the attention of Mr. Maruschak (PSAT coordinator) who will be in the Counseling Office on the day of the exam.
Scores can be retrieved online through the College Board website in mid-December. Please follow the directions linked here:
